Malala Yousafzai, the youngest person to be honoured with a Nobel Peace Prize, with the World Television Premiere of Gul Makai. The film is an enthralling journey of Malala, a young girl raised in the scenic Swat Valley in Pakistan, fighting the terror with nothing but peace and brave spirit, and her father, who stood tall and shaped Malala’s future that proved to be inspiring folklore. Directed by Amjad Khan, Gul Makai features Reem Shaikh as Malala along with talented artists as Atul Kulkarni and Divya Dutta in pivotal roles. Talking about the film Atul Kulkarni said, “Malala’s father played a critical role in her life. He seeded in the importance of education at a young age in Malala and I am eternally grateful that I got to play such an important role on screen. I read extensively about Ziauddin Yousafzai to be able to portray the character in the true sense. Gul Makai moves me from within till date and I am looking forward to the World TV Premiere on &pictures so we can share this inspiring tale with a larger audience.” Elaborating about the film, Divya Dutta said, "Malala Yousafzai is a living and breathing folklore for young girls who aspire to rise against all odds. I have always been a huge supporter of lifting our girl child to empowerment and it was an endearing journey for me to play Malala's mother. We researched and rehearsed every aspect of the film to get the essence right. It's great that after its release on the big screen, Gul Makai will light up TV screens as well.
